Knife Care

Most of our knives are made of carbon steel, which means that the metal can corrode and develop rust if not properly taken care of.

The easiest way of preventing rust, is to dry off your blade properly after being exposed to water or humid environments. Additionally, we recommend you use oil – WD40 or some other type of protective, to wipe down your blade once in a while. If you are using your knife to cut food, please make sure to use food safe oils like regular cooking oil or baby oil.

A carbon steel knife will, with time and use, develop a patina, which shows as an array of colours across the blade and acts as an extra layer of resistance against corrosion and rust. Personally, I find that a patina adds character to a loved and used blade.

To keep your edge shaving sharp, we recommend stropping it with a leather strop or using a honing rod. In the case of more severe chips or rolls that can appear when abusing a blade, we also offer free sharpening for all of our custom knives.

Never put your knife in the dishwasher, as the heat, steam and pressure are harmful to your knife and can dull the cutting edge.

Leather Care

All of our leather products are made from natural and high quality leather. This type of leather changes shape and colour (patina) with time and use. As you use your new leather product, it will adapt in shape, soften and get more comfortable, every time you use it.

To ensure a long lifetime, it is recommended to regularly treat and nourish your leather product with natural products, such as beeswax and leather balms.
